from surreality to reality

hahahaha. darian ee just told me, "that ralph lauren model is so sexy i want a piece of him". hahahahaha.

anw, from surreality to reality. i have the most smashing two week with sebastian here. so much fun. we went to silk street (thrice), did our hair (twice), went to the great wall at mu tian yu where he insisted on crashing into me on the slide down, the olympic stadium, zhong guan chun, inner mongolia where we rode horses in the grassland, rode camels in the gobi desert, visited musuems and sebastian did not eat mutton but did lose his wallet; celebrated my birthday on the train, went to the temple of heaven, forbidden city after which we got cheated, hong kong where we made customized SEBASTIAN and AC tee shirts on victoria's peak, lost money in macau, and seb got drunk in lam kwai fong.

it was a whirlwind of activities for two weeks. we caught up, we ate and drank and made merry. it's so nice to have one of your close friends (definition: someone u can call at 3am if u have a problem) with u in a foreign land where u're generally lonely. thanks for everything seb. i had the best two weeks since i left singapore in february. :D

so anyway, it's back to reality now. feeling very lazy, not doing work. sighs. more importantly, i got an internship in shanghai after this semester! it's with dulwich college, a private school. the phone interview was conducted in chinese but surprisingly, i managed. she must have really liked me cos they wanted me till december but i requested to leave in august cos of school and they said ok. whee!

the office is in the heart of shanghai. they're providing me an apartment. the pay is humble. i can claim some food and transport. i get to work overseas, working with chinese universities and governmental departments. well, overall, it's all right. i'm really psyched. will also take weekend trips to nanjing, suzhou, hangzhou etc. it'll be good.

i intend to go to tibet in end may and then move to shanghai and travel the afore-mentioned. i love travelling. i love moving around. this is really the life i have always wanted. although i never foresaw china playing such a big part.

anyhow, moving to shanghai is going to be a challenge again. as always, i start from zero. i need to make my place comfy (everyone who walks into my room thinks it's super), i need to look for a gym (super important), i need to make new friends cos i wouldn't know anyone there. i'm literally starting from zero. just like i did in beijing. just like i did in boston.

it will be good. i thank God for everything.
